One of the highlights of Carnival Games Wii is the ability to play mini-golf on nine different levels, six of which have to be unlocked. You use your Wiimote to hit the ball into the hole in the lowest amount of hits. Once you have mastered the easy and medium level courses, all of the miniature golf courses will be unlocked. Start playing an easy miniature gold course. Getting Par or less on two of the easy mini-golf courses opens up the next three courses.
The three out of two course you have to beat are Fairytella, Prehistoria or the Barn Yard Play and defeat the new medium courses. From beating two of the easy mini-golf courses, three new medium difficulty miniature golf courses open. Topic Archived. So, this may be a dumb question, but me and my daughters have been playing this for afew days and we can't figure out how to play any of the courses except the first three. Does anyone know how to unlock future courses?
You have to do single player and vs barker, once you beat or go under par on 2 courses in any of the lands it will open a new place for you to play in, then once you beat him in the new places unlocked it will open hard courses. Getting PAR or less on two courses in the same realm will unlock the next realm.
It doesn't matter whether you get it in Solo play or against Barker so long as you get PAR or lower the you will unlock a "puzzle piece" and once you have 2 "puzzle pieces" then the next realm will open.
So far i have found that You need to get 2 "puzzle pieces" on a level to unlock the next one. Par for each course is displayed on a sign post at the start of the course. If you want to check how many puzzle pieces you have on a level by going to the Pro Shop and selecting a level from beside barker.
A screen full of unlockables will come up and usually in the top left a 3 part jigsaw will appear or if you have all 3 pieces then a themed club will be there. I hope this answers everything for you. I found it helpful to watch the Barker and try to match where he stands and how hard he hits the ball. I've made par on all the holes this way. Nothing is worse than finally getting that perfect shot, only to have your ball pass right over the hole without going in, and it happens frequently.
The holes themselves are pretty poorly designed as well. Topography is difficult to see, and hazards always occupy locations that are sure to catch your ball every time. Because the themes and stages are so disjointed, you never get the feeling you're playing an entire round of mini golf. Most of the time you'll just be playing a single hole at a time, whereas one well-designed 18 hole course would have made for a better, more fluid experience.
Verdict When we look back at other casual golf games on Wii, we can see where Carnival Games Mini Golf goes terribly wrong. In Wii Sports Golf, for example, skill actually comes into play, while in Carnival Games players are forced to rely more on trial and error, and random luck.
